PEOPLE: Will this year’s camp be one of a kind from years past?

Karlie: For all of our 2019 camps, we’re focused on knowledge of surroundings that is amusing, collaborative, and fingers-on. Besides coaching the basics of programming and internet improvement, we’re also planning an exciting speaker collection in partnership with WeWork to help show our scholars what a career in STEAM can look like. Through this series, our pupils could learn how community entrepreneurs apply the code to their jobs.

PEOPLE: How does the approval system for candidates work?

Karlie: The Kode With Glossy crew reads each application that we acquire. During the evaluation process, we look for young women obsessed with analyzing computer technological know-how and who reveal values that are central to Kode With Glossy, like creativity, curiosity, and network-mindedness.Karlie: Kode With Glossy is about igniting the preliminary spark in young girls to want to discover the world of technology, so applicants who display creativity, passion, and curiosity around tech usually stand out to me.

PEOPLE: Do you, for my part, help inside the system of selecting participants? Have you read through the entries?

Karlie: Yes! I study and evaluate many pupil programs along with the Kode With Glossy group. While I genuinely stay busy juggling my style and modeling work, Kode With Glossy is my passion, so I tackle a hands-on function within the corporation as much as possible.

PEOPLE: Do you ever make appearances at some point in the classes?

Karlie: As we’ve scaled Kode with Klossy’s reach across the USA, it’s no longer always feasible for me to be at every camp, but I do my best to go to fields when I can. I love witnessing the movement of the Kode With Glossy community and seeing what tasks students are operating on. Their creativity and power constantly blow me away.
